Guy Laroche

Guy Laroche - the allure of Paris on a label. History of the famous French Fashion House began in 1957. At first Guy Laroche produced couture collections only, but in 1960, he launched his ready-to-wear collection. He was known for his skillful cutting and tailoring. His early work was influenced by Balenciaga, but later he gave that formality a lively freshness, cultivating popularity among younger women. Several well-known designers have worked under Laroche's name. In 1957, Azzedine Alaia joined him for several years, from 1955 to 1958 Valentino worked there, and Issey Miyake was also a designer for Laroche from 1966 to 1968. Nowadays designers like Michel Klein, Alber Elbaz, Marcel Marongiu were appointed as the creative directors for Guy Laroche. And now an art director is Adam Andrascik who agrees that beauty lies in simplicity.
